Charles Rake's oil paintings have a quality, perhaps born of his welsh origins, of lyrical expression. A deep appreciation of the subtler moods of the British landscape most inspire this essentially British artist.

Since launching his career as a freelance artist in 1974, he has exhibited over many years at major London exhibitions, including the Royal Academy, the Mall Galleries where the Federation of British Artist is based, as well as many well known art societies such as the Royal Society of British Artists and the New English Art Club. It was from here in 1990 that he represented the choice of the Chairman of the Arts Council, Lord Palumbo, in the first Discerning Eye Exhibition.

Rake has work in many private and corporate collections, including the collection of their Royal Highnesses the King and Queen of Spain.
